Everyone loves Melissa Martin. And why not? She's the most popular teen pop-star singing sensation with 2 hit CDs and she just finished starring in her first movie! She's got everything a girl could wish for and she's surrounded by friends.
Yesterday Melissa sent a note to her closest friends telling them to meet her tonight at her family's Malibu hide-away. But when one of her friends arrived this morning for a scheduled meeting she discovered Melissa's body lying on her bedroom floor...dead.
She has gathered together everyone who received Melissa's note in order to solve the mystery. Obviously, Melissa wasn't loved by everyone after all.
Melissa Martin (half of the famous Martin twins) has been murdered. Set in Malibu, this is a great game for teenage (or almost teenage) girls at a birthday party or sleepover.

We had this for my daughter''s 12th birthday party. She said it was her best party ever. She had 9 girls in attendance so we had to ''borrow'' a couple characters from a different mystery but the site may that relatively easy to do. My husband played Detective Dimwitty and so was able to guide the party and questions along (we had him take mugshots of each girl as well). The girls had a blast and Melanie is already planning another mystery party for her 13th birthday.

The game was so fun, everyone enjoyed it. my friends were so excited to play and didn''t want to stop. Then at the end no one guessed the right person, our theories were different and some weren''t even close, but we just laughed it off.

I think that overall the party the party went well. Everyone seemed to have a good time and there was no fighting at all. They got it well and they were from 9-11 and we had 6 people and we finished in 2 hours.

It was our first mistery party and I was not sure that the girls would really get into it. This type of party is not known in Spain but I must say that the girls loved it and they want more.Being all Spanish girls I had to translate all the clues and also I had to add a few characters( I created a spoiled rich boyfriend, an ambitious dancer, a jealous friend and another choir singer). I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and had a couple of police officers and also the crime scene with the taped outline on the floor). I had lots of fun organizing this and we will certainly have another one for my oungest daughter, this time probably a spooky one around Halloween.

The game was a blast. The murder we chose was Death of a Teen Idol. The girls got into character and remained in character. We had a detective and his assistant. We Took mug shots and had a realistic crime scene. The detective was so convincing the girls thought he was an actual detective. It was neat to host a party that was different than any the girls had ever been to. They loved it!

We did this for my sister''s 11th birthday,We held it on 3/13 at 3:13 after school. It was really fun and all of the girls really seamed to like it. They all thought they did it, then they decided a group of them had done it. The only thing that wasn''t good was we had 12 girls and had to make up charachters so there were four girls who had clues but no speaking clues, some of them were disappointed. It also didn''t take as long as expected, only about an hour and a half to two hours....with eating appetizers and a main course. We had dessert after we wrapped up the mystery. Overall the girls really liked it!

We had nine 13 year old girls for a birthday party. The party was 3 hours long. All had great fun. Thanks very much for the story line. It was a bit daunting at first but following step by step made it come out well in the end.

We used this Murder Mystery for 18 Girl Guides (ages 9-12). We took their mug shots and had a Who Did It guessing board for each round.
They loved dressing up like their characters and having their pictures taken. We served different snacks and dirnks for each round.
It was a huge hit and we will most likely do another one.

We did it for my 13 birthday party. We were all in such suspense the whole game and we were screaming to know who the murderer was and what our next clues would be. It was really scary at one point of the party and we were all freaked out. It was really really fun and I really recommend it.

This was a lot of fun! The girls were very excited about it, and in the second round, most of them suspected themselves of being the murderer, so the twists in each round made for lots of laughs and gasps. I would definitely do this again!

The party was lots of fun! We didn't have enough people who were able to come as the game calls for, but we combined some clues as it suggested, & it worked out great!

This was a lot of fun. I(Mom)played the role of Pat(host)for my daughter's birthday party. After the 1st round most of the girls thought they knew "who did it" but then it kept changing. After the last round of clues, noone had the mystery solved. It was interesting to see the "twist" after the murderer was revealed. Now my adult girlfriends want to have a couples party and play a mystery game!

My daughter had her 12th birthday sleep over party and this was the perfect murder mystery game to chose for the age group. It had all the elements that made it exciting without getting over complicated. We had in total 7 girls and I was the host as well as the eighth character, Pat Williams( manager). We had a red carpet( plastic table cloth) right outside the front door to welcome the celebriities and ofcourse the papparazzi were there, not losing any opportunity to photograph the guests at the famous movie star's residence. The girls were at first a bit reserved with their roles however they soon became comfortable with each other. I had made a whole package for each individual with all the clues for the three rounds, notebook and ofcourse a pen to make notes while the game went on. We had Appetizers and Cocktail after the first round and after the second round we had the main dinner. We proceeded with the third round and after the third round, I had a friend dressed up as a "Talent Recruiter" visit with her Karaoke Machine. This was a nice break where the girls sang some solos an in a group. However we had to know who the murderer was and the Talent recruiter added that she could not sign anyone until the real murderer was unveiled. Hence the Round 4. After which we cut the mystery themed cake. It was a real fun filled evening.

This was a great game; not too difficult and not too easy. I really think the ages are irrelivent because I did it for a 12th birthday and some of my friends didn't understand some things. I guess it all depends on your mental capacity and your ability to think things through. I had a hunch from the very beginning and found it funny to be right in the end. It really helps if people aren't shy to get into their character and o a bit of Nancy-Drewing. I think the website is really wonderful and I was so happy with it that I'm doing another from the website for my sister's party. A great game: highly reccommend it! :)

this was very fun quick, and easy to do! i think my friends would agree. we had a fun time making fun of things that my friends did like shooting someone. in our picture my friend dylilah held a plastic potato gun to my friend ali's head. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
It wasn't scripted, so we were trying to reword everything and it took a long time to do that. Once we got a handle on it, it was a funny mystery.

This game was a lot of fun. I did it for my 13th birthday. The game went quickly, so we went sledding at a nearby elementary school. All of the girls wanted to extend my party because we were having fun. I would highly recommend this party.

This murder Mystery was SOOOO fun!! This was probably one of the coolest parties I've ever been to! I have an idea for the game: maybe there could be clues like around the house that we would have to find, like an object or something, maybe like a scavenger hunt, only with clues.( just an idea)I also had a lot of fun dressing like that person. It was SOOOOOOO AWESOME!

I loved this game!!!!!! it was the first one i did for my b-day but i had been to others. I thought it was really fun and had a big twist to it. We set up a crime scean on the lawn and the girls liked it!! I'm doing another Muder Mystery party this year and its by the same Author its called "Death of a teen Dancer" Note: I would secgest that u try to make the game interesting with little "breaks" to go do like other stuff like play party games and maybe a scavenger hunt to try to get everyone moving instead of just sitting around the whole time.

I had this game for my sweet 16 and I completely recommend it. What my friends and I did was read through the clues a 2nd time to refresh our memory before we read who the murderer was. It really helps you figure out what each clue means. Another thing is that even though it is not recommended to think outloud and tell people who you think the murderer is and why, it really helps to talk it out because it creates an excitment for the guests who may not be keeping up enough to figure out specfic clues. I definatly recommend it and hope you enjoy this game as much as my friends and I did.

My friend hosted this murder mystery and I thought it was incredible. Everyone had so much fun and we really got into our characters, "accusing" murderers at the end of each round (for fun). The ending surprised everyone and no one guessed who it was! I would recommend this for 12-19 year-olds. Suggestion: really get into your character and create a "crime scene" with tape to block off the area until you are completely ready to let your guests check out the sight. This was soooooooooo much fun! :)

We played the game at a murder mystery Pathfinder sleepover (Pathfinders is an older branch of Girl Guides). There were 7 girls and 3 leaders, the 2 extra leaders were police officers and helped to interrogate and lead the game. The girls seemed to have a lot of fun...
We had a lot of fun and will definitely be doing it again next year.

This was a lot of fun! We changed the plan a little bit - instead of reading clues aloud, we "mingled" and had conversations with each guest, so we found out the clues individually. It took longer, but it seemed more realistic. We were all surprised at the outcome, and had fun going back through the clues to read them after the fact to see what we'd missed.
